Rules and Regulations:

24-Hour Open Innovation Hackathon

General Rules:

  • All participants must be college students and carry a valid college ID.
  • Each team must consist of exactly 3 members.
  • The hackathon will run continuously for 24 hours.
  • Teams may work on any innovative project or idea under open innovation.
  • Participants may present an idea, working model, or prototype.
  • All submissions must be original; plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
  • Teams must bring their own laptops, hardware, and required materials.
  • Stalls will be provided and may be utilized during the event.
  • Food will not be provided; participants must make their own arrangements.
  • Professional conduct must be maintained throughout the event.
  • Any form of misconduct, rule violation, or unethical practice will result in disqualification.
  • Projects will be evaluated based on innovation, technology, feasibility, impact, and presentation.
  • The final decision will be made by the judging panel and organizing team, and shall be final.

Age Category:

Overview:

  • Youth Talent Icon is an individual performance-based event that allows participants to showcase any unique talent including (but not limited to):
  • Mimicry
  • Beatboxing
  • Magic
  • Speed painting
  • Mono acting
  • Martial arts demo
  • Any creative skill within time limit

Rules:

Time Limit:

  • Performance Duration: 3 minutes
  • Setup Time: 1 minute

General Guidelines:

  • Performances must be original and age-appropriate.
  • Any act that includes vulgarity, obscenity, or religious/political content is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Participants must carry necessary props, costumes, or instruments on their own.
  • Audio tracks (if used) must be submitted 2 days before in MP3 format.
  • No assistance is allowed on stage during the performance.
  • Acts involving fire, glass, water, or any hazardous element are not allowed.

Instructions:

  • Participants must report at least 30 minutes before the event begins.
  • Any special technical requirement must be communicated in advance.
  • Participants must maintain discipline backstage and on stage.
  • Use of mobile phones on stage during the act is not permitted.

Rules and Regulations:

Simulation of Real Parliamentary Discussions

General Rules:

  • All participants must adhere to formal language and behavior in the house.
  • Allocation of roles (Speaker, Minister, Opposition, etc.) will be random or assigned.
  • Usage of national symbols, religious sentiments, or sensitive issues should be handle with care and dignity.
  • Each speech or intervention must be brief and to the point.
  • Any form of unruly conduct or disruption will result in expulsion.
  • All arguments must be backed by facts or proposed bills.
  • Shouting, hooting, or crossing into another’s turn is not allowed.
  • The decorum of the house is paramount and will be monitored strictly.
  • Example: If a participant simulates a walk-out mid-debate without reason, they forfeit further speaking rights.

Science Projects | Innovation Showcases | Viva

General Rules:

  • Projects must be original, and plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
  • Props should be non-hazardous and safe to handle in a school setting.
  • Participants must be ready to explain the working principle during viva.
  • All material setup must be completed within the allocated prep time.
  • Any misrepresentation of scientific facts will lead to negative scoring.
  • Exhibits must be dismantled after judging and area cleaned.
  • Props or posters cannot include offensive or political content.
  • External assistance during the event is not allowed.
  • Example: A team with a volcano model using real flame will be asked to remove it for safety violations.

Workshop and Case Study Competition

1. Objective

The event aims to enhance students’ analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills through structured exposure to case study methodologies and competitive application. It bridges theory and practice by first training participants on case handling and then assessing their competencies through a live competition.

2. Event Structure

The event will be conducted in two phases:

Phase I – Workshop on Case Study Handling (First Half of the Day)
A hands-on workshop focusing on:

  • Understanding business cases
  • Identifying core problems and decision points
  • Structuring analysis using management frameworks
  • Developing practical and ethical solutions
  • Presentation and articulation techniques

This session will prepare participants for effective participation in the competition.

Phase II – Case Study Competition (Second Half of the Day)

  • Teams will be given a real-time case.
  • Participants will analyze, deliberate, and present solutions before a panel of experts.
  • The best-performing teams will be adjudged and awarded.

3. Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines.
  • Participants must be currently enrolled in a recognized institution.

4. Team Composition

  • Each team must consist of 2 to 3 members.
  • One team per institution is recommended (or as specified by organizers).

5. Competition Rules and Regulations

  • Teams must register in advance through the official YUCI registration channel.
  • The case will be provided only on the day of the event.
  • Time allocation:
    • Case analysis: 45–60 minutes
    • Presentation: 8–10 minutes
    • Q&A: 3–5 minutes

Student Board Game Design & Challenge

1.  Objective

This event aims to foster creativity, strategic thinking, innovation, and experiential learning by encouraging students to design and develop their own original board games. It integrates elements of management, logic, ethics, and problem-solving while providing a competitive platform for showcasing design thinking and teamwork.

3. Event Concept

Participants will conceptualize, design, and develop an original board game prior to the event and bring it ready for demonstration and play. Each team will present their game, explain its mechanics, objectives, rules, and underlying concept. A panel of experts will evaluate the games and adjudge the best designs as winners.

4. Eligibility

  • Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines.
  • Participants must be enrolled in a recognized institution.

5. Team Composition

  • Each team must consist of 2 to 4 members.
  • Only one entry per team is allowed.

6. Design Guidelines

  • The board game must be an original creation.
  • Digital or app-based games are not permitted; only physical board games are allowed.
  • The game should encourage one or more of the following:
    • Strategic thinking
    • Problem-solving
    • Decision-making
    • Ethical reasoning
    • Business or real-life simulation (optional but encouraged)
  • The game must be playable within 20–30 minutes.
  • All components (board, cards, tokens, dice, instructions, etc.) must be brought by the participants.
  • Clear written rules must be submitted along with the game.

Each team will be given:

  • 5–7 minutes to explain the concept, objective, and mechanics of the game.
  • 10–15 minutes to demonstrate gameplay.
